Military Times recently reported Pentagon’s Close Combat Lethality Task Force is supporting a vision that will change the game when it comes to tactical weapons.

The work was presented this week by retired Army Maj. Gen. Robert Scales at the annual Armaments Systems Forum hosted by the National Defense Industrial Association. Scales was a former veteran of the Vietnam War and former commandant to the U.S. Army War College.

He said that people used to believe that tactical art emerges from operation art, but with this innovation, it is showing the other way around. The forum also presented technical breakthroughs and what to expect in the future in the field.

The app that can be accessed via a smartphone was among those presented in the forum, showcasing how smaller units, such as those in the size of a Marine or Army squad, can impact both strategic and operational levels of tactical.
